No big deal. I'm just in Spain right now.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.
My journey started at 10:30 on Saturday morning, and according to my computer, it's now 2:00 pm on Sunday back home. That's more than 24 hours of traveling - completely by myself! I've never done anything quite this independent before. I mean, I did the Christmas day flight between Seattle and LA for years. This, however, is different - shockingly.
I'm so glad that I've been fortunate enough to travel before, especially to have already flown into the behemoth that is Heathrow. Otherwise, I don't know how I would have done this solo without some sort of freakout. (Random aside: Virgin Atlantic is the best airline, not only because all of the TV shows and movies - I mean, I was a little sad to leave the plane after only 10 hours, not gonna lie - but because the people on the plane have the best accents)
Anyways, for the most part, the traveling was really uneventful. I'm so relieved. I'm also thrilled that I'm spending the night in a hotel near the Madrid airport, not in the terminal itself, as was suggested by a person who shall remain anonymous *cough*Dad*cough*...
There's still a little traveling left to do, though, as tomorrow IES (the study abroad company) picks us up at the Madrid airport to drive us the final two-and-a-half hours to Salamanca!
This is a boring post, but I figured I'd notify people that I'm alive! Yay. I would say more, but I don't have a power source other than my laptop battery, because somebody (i.e. me) is cool and doesn't test out important things like transformers before a four-month journey. Planning is for squares... Therefore, more will follow soon!
(...and then I found 20 Euros.)
YOU MADE IT!!!! You're so independent! Congrats! Haha. Good luck with everything tomorrow! I can't believe you're there already...after all these months of planning...it actually happened...oh no big deal at all. Hahaha love the parenthetical remark :) Besos!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to hear more! This is so weird, we're in the same pais ahorrrra! hahahaha
