Well hey there, loyal readers (Mom, Dad, Grandma, and the random Russian individuals who have somehow stumbled upon this blog since I've been gone - psst, I see you):
So after a five-year hiatus, I've decided that it is time to resume my writing and revive this blog. See, I'm departing in less than 24 hours for my two-year master's program in Paris. And somehow, despite my procrastinating nature, I've managed to finish packing my life for the next year into a mere two suitcases at a reasonable hour. All that's really left is for me to write this quick note.
Luckily, I've got the Olympics here to help me procrastinate/calm my nerves/get me in the international spirit. And boy, do I feel inspired.
Getting to this moment has been a long process over the course of many months. Two weeks ago, I had to bid farewell to DC and my amazing friends there. Now, I'm getting ready to say "see you later" to the United States.
It's unreal to me that my departure date is finally here. I'm definitely feeling a bit nervous, but I think once I get to Paris, the positives will outweigh any nerves.
(Did I mention I don't speak French yet? This is gonna be a fun challenge.)
In the meantime, whenever I get stressed out about the many things on my brain, I continue to remind myself about how many croissants, baguettes, cheese, crepes, and other amazing foods I will be regularly eating in France. (But still, if you see this, please send me peanut butter.)
I am so thrilled to have this opportunity. Paris will be an entirely new adventure, but I'm sure it will bring back many memories of my time in Spain.
And now, it is time for me to go feign sleep for the next few hours amidst this whole array of emotions that I'm feeling. See you in France!
