Yes, it's the most wonderful time of the year: finals season. Oh, joy. It's a time when college students all around the world rush to catch up on the reading assignment(s) they missed and instead spend hours on Facebook.
Indeed, my own finals start on Thursday and end (gasp) a week from tomorrow. Therefore, I'm doing all I can to recover from my sickness and make the most of the last few moments I have in Spain.
So, what did we do yesterday to maximize the Spanish experience? Went and saw Harry Potter in Madrid (in English). Okay, not particularly Spanish, but it was great to see the movie, finally, and especially nice to do something semi-exciting with my weekend. The movie itself was really good, and our experience was augmented by the fact that about half the audience was made up of actual British people (yes, even in Europe, I will get excited by English accents.)
We wandered around Madrid for the rest of the day and saw their Christmas market, which was decorated with beautiful lights. Sarah jokingly was mad at me for not being a boy, since it would have made for a very romantic setting for a date. Ah, well, instead, we were two coughing American girls wandering about in the rain, having a fine time.
And now... studying for finals!
